Help us keep The Shoreline Shredder a part of the series every year!
We’re thrilled to bring cyclocross to a new venue this year: César Chávez Park in Berkeley. It’s a stunning spot and an incredible opportunity—but we need your help to make sure it stays part of the Bay Area Super Prestige series.
Some quick history: From 1961 to 1983, the site was a 90-acre Class II landfill. It was sealed with a clay cap and officially closed in phases by 1989. In 1991, it reopened as North Waterfront Park, now César Chávez Park.
Fast forward to today:
As of June 6, 2025, new rules prohibit any superficial soil disturbance within the park.
That means:
No stakes in the ground—we’re using cones and delineators to mark the course.
-
No berms or skidding—please ride clean and smooth to protect the surface.
These details might seem small, but they’re everything. Following these guidelines is what will determine whether we get invited back or not.
We believe this park is a dream location for cyclocross. Let’s prove it. Respect the land, ride smart, and help us lock this venue in for years to come.
Thank you.
The events can't happen without our amazing volunteer. If you would like to be a part of the very first Shoreline Cyclocross at César Chávez Park and help us make the event happen, sign up in the link below!
